As a kid my siblings and I made fun of our grandmother Rae for her dogmatic recycle and reuse.

As I've gotten older, I've appreciated what Rae was doing. See, there is no away. Everything we discard has to go somewhere. Landfills, our oceans.

 

Salvage Art came from a place of recognizing how what we throw away can often be repurposed.

 

My art is a reflection of reimagining what might be trash to one and made a new (gently used) to another. While I'm not climbing into dumpsters, I'm constantly on the look for that gem on the curb needing a second life.
